Frequently asked questions
About Withy
What is Withy?+
Withy is a planning tool for English farms. You describe your farm and we hand back a plain-English plan: which Sustainable Farming Incentive actions you're eligible for, roughly what each pays, and what you'd need to do differently.
Who is it for?+
Small English farms, roughly 3 to 50 hectares, without a land agent or advisor already doing this work for them.
Is this an official government service?+
No. Withy is an independent product, not affiliated with Defra, the Rural Payments Agency, or any government body.
Do you submit my application for me?+
No. Withy is a planning and discovery tool, not a compliance-checked application system. The actual application happens on GOV.UK via the Rural Payments service. See our disclaimer for the full position.
Eligibility and schemes
What is SFI?+
The Sustainable Farming Incentive pays English farmers annually for actions that support sustainable food production and the environment. See our full guide for how it works.
Am I eligible?+
You need at least 3 hectares of agricultural land in England, registered with the RPA. Exact eligibility is per-action beyond that. See our eligibility guide for the full picture.
How much could I get?+
SFI26 rates range from £4 to £1,920 depending on the action and how it's paid (per hectare, per metre, or per tonne). See our payment rates guide for worked detail.
When can I apply?+
SFI26 Window 1 closed 28 August 2026; Window 2 opens September 2026 for all farmers. See our application windows guide for the current status.
Pricing and billing
How much does it cost?+
£25 per year for your first farm, £10 per year for each additional farm on the same account. See our pricing page for details.
Can I get a refund?+
Yes. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, refunded on request with no questions asked, on your first purchase and every renewal.
Your data
What happens to my farm data?+
It's used to match your farm against SFI actions and generate your plan. See our privacy policy for what we store, why, and how to export or delete it.
